Grim COVID Future

Three per cent of COVID deaths are

persons vaccinated.

I hope the vaccine’s potency

has not been overstated.

I hope the ugly variants

don’t conquer the vaccine.

Or strand us in a curious place

just dangling in-between.

I hope I’m one of the 97

who makes it through alive.

No one knows with surety

who’ll manage to survive.
