A Lullaby for Shannon

This lullaby’s for Shannon.

May it ease her troubled heart,

singing through the gath’ring shadows

and breaking them apart —

making openings for rainbows

that glow with bright delight —

and letting  sleep with  peaceful dreams

hold  quiet through her night.
