Puget Sound Groundhog

The groundhog has no shadow.

He’s decided he will hide

inside his buried burrow

‘til the winds and snow subside.

But back in Pennsylvania

they have Punxatawney Phil,

who’s bolder far and ready

to face up to winter chill.

So some of us think winter days

and some are thinking spring.

And none of us has any clue

what coming days will bring.
