Chores
It’s time to start the ironing.
It’s time to change the bed.
It’s time to clean the dirty sink
and see the cat is fed.
It’s time to vacuum up the crumbs
and then we must repeat.
Why don’t we just invent a way
to make chores obsolete?
Cats
Some cats like to snuggle,
want a cuddly, soft embrace.
Others give a cold cat stare
to keep you in your place.
Winter
Winter’s losing its hard edges.
We are tiptoeing toward spring,
barely hoping that the winter gods
won’t take a final fling.
A Prayer
This simple prayer is sent to you
to keep you through the night…
to hold you safe and comforted
until the morning light.
This Night
