I’ve run the vacuum,

mopped the floors…

I’ve handled the

important chores.

The house is clean.

I’m tickled pink.

No dirty dishes

in MY sink!

But, can I stop?

Declare a win?

No.

It’s time to do it

all again.

Today I wish for rainbows

and for dancing leprechauns.

I wish for magic fairy rings

and dainty, spotted fawns.

Today I wish for daffodils

and buried pots of gold.

Today I wish for all the bliss

that your warm heart can hold.

My candle burns for Val today.

It lifts its standard high.

It lights a path that’s clear and true

as her working hours pass by.

My candle lights a shining path

for all the world to see.

And, best of all, we always know

it’s there for you and me.

Blessings on teachers who impart

the skills of how to learn.

May each one have a happy heart,

success at ev’ry turn.

Blessings on kids who go to school

to study, learn and play.

May ev’ry single one of them

feel sweet success today.

There’s no snowpack.

It’s pretty scary.

Here we are.

It’s January.

Mountain snow

is what we drink.

Time to worry ––

don’t you think?

It’s time to act,

so I’ll begin.

I’ve ordered in

supplies of gin.

Another year has come and gone.

It took its turn, and then moved on.

The next year is an empty slate.

We turn the page.  And now, we wait.

Happy New Year ev’ryone!

The planets keep on spinning.

Fresh new year has just begun….

another New  Beginning!

Today’s the shortest of the year.

It all starts looking up from here.
