just change their plan.’

And graze in someone else’s yard.

The Uvalde children haunt me.

Wrenching mem’ries from the past.

Laughing voices on a playground.

Little lives that didn’t last.

The bunnies ate their breakfast.

They savored ev’ry minute.

They like my yard for breakfast.

They like ev’rything that’s in it.

Those pesky rabbits drive me nuts.

I wish they’d go away.

As long as I plant marigolds,

I’m ‘fraid they’re here to stay.

My frappuccino mocha

is a tasty morning drink.

You know how I love Starbuck’s

from the bottles neath my sink.

I had pie for breakfast.

Pie for lunch.

And, then, pie for my supper.

In the middle of the day,

I had pie picker- upper.

I linger on each bite of it.

I  savor ev’ry taste.

I do my patriotic part.

Let nothing go to waste!

The pe’s so good

That evry taste

It must not go to waste!

I light a candle for the world.
