like zephyrs of a summer breeze.
And may they keep their minds on focus
avoiding yawns or hocus-pocus.

We’re near a million US dead.
New deaths aren’t even news.
We’ve other things to shock us,
things to baffle and confuse.
Our attention’s moving onward.
Other crises mark our day.
The death toll from Old COVID?
It’s just all So Yesterday.
I’m Vaxxed and Boosted,
and, whaddya know?
In COVID terms,
I’m good to go.
As long as folks stay
outta my space,
I don’t even have to
cover my face.
I’ve done all the things
they told me to.
I even got shot
against the flu.
I’ll go outside and
breathe fresh air.
I’ll face the world and
see what’s there.
