it’s a misty, moisty morning –
just a “normal” Northwest day.
The whole world’s feeling lighter
now some rain’s come back our way.

Eleven hundred die each day.
I can’t understand why.
With vaccines so available,
why do they choose to die?
I sprinkled your path with pixie dust
and I marked it with candlelight,
and I asked the angels to stand on guard
so your day would be all right.
Then I sent a gentle lullaby–
its tones are soft and slight–
and angels will stay beside your bed
to protect you through the night.
The kids are heading back to school–
–big yellow buses rolling—
The sight lifts up my spirits –
it’s comfort and consoling!
I pray each child will have a friend
and a day of eager learning–
–safe harbor during hours of day–
and a warm, secure returning.
Today I send you love and joy
for happiness in your day.
I’m tossing in some pixie dust
for sparkle along your way.
The started out quite dull and gray.
I decided to make things lighter.
I sprinkled around some pixie dust.
And, now: Things look much brighter!
He set out to kill:
man, woman, and child,
and a babe in its mother’s arm.
He donned a vest.
Picked up his guns.
And set out to do them harm.
He shot at cops.
He fought for their guns.
But when he didn’t win,
he threw up his hands
and quit the fight
so there ‘d be no harm to him.
An Autumn chill is in the air.
The nights are turning colder.
This Fall will slip to Wintertime
before we’re all much older!
Tonight I send a lullaby.
Its notes are sweet and low.
It ripples like a gentle brook
where only sweet dreams flow.
Night spreads her gentle presence.
Darkness marks the end of day.
Gentle slumber overtakes us.
Dreams rock the night away.
