My giant rhododendron

wears her blossoms like a crown.

She hasn’t got a rival –

she’s the stateliest shrub in town.

My Fuzzy-Wuzzy Flip-Flop mop

has changed my attitude.

With my bright pink fuzzy wuzzy mop,

I’m a Kitchen-Cleaning-Dude!

I bought a Fuzzy-Wuzzy Flip-Flop mop

to clean the kitchen floor.

A bright pink fuzzy-wuzzy mop

sure lightens up the chore.

It used to be the children could

discern the truth from lies.

“Liar, liar, pants on fire”

rang out in school yard cries.

The grown-ups now have learned to lie —

dissemble, cheat, and steal.

And now it’s very hard to tell

the made-up from what’s real.

Ev’ry day I think about

what I should be and do.

And when I think about it,

I decide to be like you!

My lilac bush is sickly

but at least it’s still alive.

It almost got its roots drowned

but it managed to survive.

It isn’t quite the healthiest that

 you have ever seen.

 I’m really just ecstatic that

the leaves are turning green.

The Uvalde children haunt me.

Grim reminder from the past.

Never finished.

Never over.

Just an anguish that will last.

A Blessing is a miracle

 in its way.
