The meadowlark was made to sing,
sending sweet notes through the air.
May we be like the meadowlark,
sharing music everywhere.

My candle burns for those who drive
the nation’s roads and highways —
—moving the people and their loads
down interstates and by-ways.
Today’s my sister’s birthday.
Sisters hold a special place.
There’s always a connection
space and time do not erase.
I made fresh apple butter
from my neighbor’s apple tree.
Bubbling sweetness on the stove top…..
what an autumn treat for me!
Mankind is in a dither.
We are messing up the earth.
Nature’s sending wake-up calls.
We’re more bother than we ‘re worth.
I tied a ribbon to a dream
and drew it close for you.
Wrapped my arms around a rainbow,
and brought it nearer, too.
I tucked a four-lear clover neath
the corner of your bed.
Then, sprinkled it all with moon beams
to light your night ahead.
We’re heading down to see the Fair.
We’re running at full gallop.
We find excitement ev’rywhere.
We’re Doing the Puyallup!
A garden is a miracle.
It makes the broken whole.
It fills the eyes with beauty.
It feeds body, mind, and soul.
May you take a magic carpet ride.
May you find a four leaf clover.
May leprechauns bring a pot of gold.
And, then, may you do it over.
The kids are heading back to school.
They’re lining up to catch the bus.
What they’re learning, at work and play,
sets the future for all of us.
