My Virtue’s over-flowing as I look out on the rain.

An atmospheric river is just pelting down again.

My garden’s set for winter, though there’s more than I can do.

No matter what the weather serves, my garden sees me through.

My yard waste bin is to its brim.

It’s top is over flowing.

I hate to see the season change,

but things have just stopped growing.

The petunias and the marigolds

have reached their season’s end.

I’ll miss their pretty cheerfulness.

They were like a summer friend.

Happy Birthday, Special One.

This prayer is meant for you…

for deep success and happiness

and joy the whole day through.

The day is dark and spitzly.

You can’t really call it rain.

The sunny days are fading.

Crispy Autumn’s on the wane.

The id outstrips the ego

in our national debate.

I hope we gain some self-control

before it gets too late.

i’m alone in my house with Halloween candy.

That’s a terrible place to be.

I bought the candy for Halloween…for the cute little kids, you see.

I bought the candy so I’d be ready when the kids come to my door.

The candy’s for the children.  That’s who I bought it for.

Alas!  Alack! It’s a Candy Attack!

It’s IMPOSSIBLE to resist!

The candy wants to be eaten.

In fact, they just INSIST!

So what’ll I do?  I’m asking you!  I need your good advice.

Must I say No?  Just let them go?

Or can I sample them once or twice?

Do you remember our trip to Kauai?

…sipping soft drinks on the cool lanai?

No “have-to”, “must”, or ‘should” or “ought-er”.

Just the clear blue sky

and the ocean water.

Just the shore birds circling

through the ocean air…..

Just a taste of paradise

far . far out there.

May you walk with purpose, joy, and grace.

May happy thoughts invade your space.

May winter sunshine light your eyes.

May your day erupt with glad surprise.
