We had a day of summer, but,
it ended with a fizzle.
We woke to wind and gray today.
The forecast is for drizzle.
We had a day of summer, but,
it ended with a fizzle.
We woke to wind and gray today.
The forecast is for drizzle.
It’s another wet and sloppy day.
Another day of cold.
I hate to be a whiner,
but, this rain is getting old.
Next week, it will be “summer”.
Of that, I have some doubt!
It can’t dry up for “summer”
‘less these raindrops peter out.
I wonder if there’ll ever be
an end to this Insanity.
Or will we all live on in fear
that things will just get worse next year?
A lot of folks are buying a gun.
They’re locked and loaded….Ready for fun!
Don’t want to miss their chance, you see,
to kill the likes of you and me.
Uvalde, Texas, stays with me…
with its pall of blood and sorrow.
The killing goes on endlessly.
There’ll be more dead tomorrow.
Play me a simple melody.
Play me a simple song.
Play me a tune I know so well
my heart can hum along.
Sing me the quiet notes of old.
Sing me the words I know.
Sing me a lullaby of hope
and let my sorrows go.
I came across a recipe.
The cake it made was tasty.
‘Twill aways be
a part of me…
around my hips and waisty.
Today I think of rainbows
and I think of butterflies.
I think of blue forget-me-nots
and castles in the skies.
Today I think of happiness
and dreams that all come true.
Today my heart is filled with joy…
a joy that springs from you.
I’m send you a happy day
trimmed with ribbon and a fancy bow.
I’m tucking in a shiny rainbow
to brighten ev’ry place you go.
The pace of death is rising
as the killing spree goes on.
It’s become the Killing Season.
Any one can get a gun.
Any one can be a target.
That includes both you and me.
We sit by and watch it happen.
We are in a Killing Spree.
