Winter’s losing its hard edges.
We are tiptoeing toward spring,
barely hoping that the winter gods
won’t take a final fling.
Winter’s losing its hard edges.
We are tiptoeing toward spring,
barely hoping that the winter gods
won’t take a final fling.
This simple prayer is sent to you
to keep you through the night…
to hold you safe and comforted
until the morning light.
May peace and quiet be with you
and keep you through this night.
May you be safe from ev’ry harm
‘til comes the morning light.
Walk softly on the earth today.
Step gentle on the land.
For Man’s a guest upon this earth.
Let’s try to understand.
Whether morning, noon, or night
I have a hearty appetite.
My food is good. And, I admit:
I eat a bit too much of it.
I like to think that Man is good.
But sometimes I don’t know.
I watch my country struggle,
and my doubts begin to grow.
There’s stirring life beneath the snow.
It’s faint. But, life begins to grow.
Be patient. Wait. Because we know
that soon – quite soon – spring starts to show.
It’s almost time for crocus blooms.
For tulips. Daffodils.
It’s almost time for growth of green
to cover mountains, hills…
It’s almost time for warmer wind…
…for robins in the air.
It’s almost time to feel the spring
come bursting ev’ry where.
Tomorrow is another day.
Who knows what it may bring?
I offer you the fervent hope
that it will make you sing.
The earth is cold
beneath the snow.
Yet, tulip bulbs
prepare to grow.
