“I do solemnly swear…
…to protect and defend…”
The felon’s charade.
Democracy’s end.
“I do solemnly swear…
…to protect and defend…”
The felon’s charade.
Democracy’s end.
Life writes a page and then moves on.
It stretches out from dawn to dawn.
Each day I check my page to see
what’s written on life’s page for me.
Today may you know happiness.
And may your heart be light.
And may you know contentment
from the dawn till dark of night.
A town burns.
People flee.
Ashes swirl.
Memory.
Today, tomorrow, yesterday….
The seasons never last.
We use our hours one by one.
And, then, our lives have passed.
California’s burning.
The mind can’t take it in.
We see the devastation.
When did Hell begin?
Character. And decency.
A man of good intent.
Our country could use more of this
in ev’ry President.
I burn a candle for the world.
Its light shines clear and true.
We all need light to find our way.
Here’s light for me and you.
Choc’late passes ‘tween the lips.
Then, lingers on the waist and hips.
May you know happiness today
with joy that fills your heart…
…a little sizzle of delight in
ev’rything you start.
