My candle burns.
Steady and true.
Always faithful.
Standing for you.
My candle burns.
Steady and true.
Always faithful.
Standing for you.
My candle is burning.
Clear and true.
A beacon of hope.
It shines for you.
My sweet little Daphne
danced to the end.
Her dancing is over…
my sweet kitty friend.
I planted 60 crocus bulbs.
The rabbits had a feast.
My plan was to outwit them, but
it mattered not the least.
I dug those holes, slid in the bulbs,
so sure that I had won.
The rabbits have outwitted me.
They eat ‘em one by one.
I’m learning to text.
And soon I’ll be
as smart as any
kid of three.
That time is coming up again.
We have to change our clocks.
It’s just about as pleasant as
rewearing dirty socks.
It’s just about as useful as
a car on cement blocks.
And, we could learn a thing or two
from little Goldilocks.
The Standard Time we have right now
works fine both day and night.
Why don’t we all just make the call
and say this time’s Just Right?
Those pesky rabbits hop through snow,
sniffing for a treat.
They hope that I’ve provided them
with something nice to eat.
The daffodils out in the snow
reach up for morning sun,
and spread their cheery promise
that our Spring has near begun!
The sky is gray and hazy.
It’s a wet and dripply day.
There’s not a hint of sunshine –
Not a solitary ray.
But my heart is light and happy
and my voice just wants to sing
‘cause the calendar is telling me
it’s Very Nearly Spring!
I hope this day goes well for you
and things go as they should.
I hope you’re feeling happy.
I hope you’re feeling good.
