If you’ll send me a billet-doux —
(Doesn’t that mean a letter twixt two?)
I’ll send a note right back to you.
We’ll have a Postal Rendezvouz!

Ev’ry candle that I burn
is filled with love for you,
with wishes you’ll find happiness
in ev’rything you do.
Two daffodils lift up their heads
and smile to start my day.
And now I know that Spring is just
a daffodil away!
Each one has a diff’rent path
that takes them where they’re going.
And sometimes where that path will lead
they have no way of knowing.
Today I’m walking on a path
that leads I know not where.
But,I am certain, on this path,
I’ll know when I am there.
February 2024 Meeting
We met in February on a balmy, sunny day.
The view was open to us. We could see across the bay.
Our book was ‘bout First Ladies and a time in history
when segregation flourished, yet some friendships came to be.
We marveled, as we always do, about our times together,
and noted to our great delight that we have perfect weather!
We savored our delicious lunch…our hostess was Rene,
and then we headed out again to go our separate way.
My heart sends you this lullaby.
My heart sends you this song.
And may this heart-sent melody
be with you all night long.
I’m a trav’ling man.
I’ve travelled far.
I’ve gone long distances by car.
I’ve gone in heat and wind and rain.
In raging storms. I don’t complain.
I know my car – know how it feels.
I read the pavement through my wheels.
I push ahead at any cost.
But when I stop….then I feel lost.
I’m a trav’ling man.
I just go on.
Pick up my keys. And travel on.
Some folks have tulips…
pushing up shoots…
pulsing with growth…
developing roots.
But I have rabbits, and
so you see,
not much survives to
bloom for me.
My candle burns its flame for you.
Bold and steady.
Seeing you through.
