Living the Aging Life

Those pesky rabbits must be burrowed

underneath the ground.

The sky has been so rainy

I suppose they could have drowned!

I don’t wish them to suffer

or to live in misery ….

But, I do hope,

when Springtime comes,

they move away from me!

Today I’m thinking of you,

so I send my love to you.

I hope this day is happy,

ev’ry moment, all day through.

Samantha is a loving cat.

She wants to touch and purr.

And if you’d like to

stroke her back,

it’s quite Okay with her!

May ev’ryone you meet today

cooperate with you.

With ev’rything that comes to hand

may you know what to do.

May ev’ry task you start today

work out just as it should.

And when the day is at its end,

relax, ‘cause all is good!

My candle burns for you today.

May Ev’rything be good!

May ev’ry task you do today

turn out just as it should.

Some say their Internet is great!

‘Twill walk, and talk, and dance, and

chat and photograph their friends, and

wage a hot romance!

But my poor Internet is slow.

It blinks and hesitates,

and burps and balks and blanks right out

and then it sits and waits.

January 2024 Meeting

We opted not to meet today.

It felt a little dicey.

In places, surfaces were clear.

In others, they were icy.

The risk of quick and sudden fall

made all of us quite wary, so

we chose to wait and meet again

next month in February.

‘bout their roles within the White House….

‘bout what each one represents.

It’s sad to miss a meeting, but

when weather’s at her worst,

it’s best to take precautions, and

remember Safety First!

I stuck my nose outside the door.

The weather’s getting better.

Instead of ice and snow and sleet,

it’s rainier and wetter.

It always rains in Washington,

so ev’ryone’s used to it.

If all we have is sleeting rain,

we sure can puddle through it.

It’s Pretty Darned Cold

and I’m wond’ring whether

I’ll make it through

this Bitter Weather!

The weather map shows up in bold

the places where it’s extra cold.

I notice to my consternation it

covers ‘bout the entire nation.

The world’s a mighty funny place.

One thing’s a mystery.

Who are all these people who

do not agree with me?
