Living the Aging Life

I hope this day goes well for you…..

its hours quick and bright.

I hope the day starts out with joy

and ends with peace tonight.

Today I wish you rainbows.

I wish you butterflies.

I wish you happiness that runs

from earth up to the skies.

Today I wish you laughter

and success in all you start,

so ev’ry task you touch today

will match that happy heart.

I live on a short and quiet street

where I know ev’ryone I meet

and ev’ryone I meet knows me

and we live in peaceful harmony.

Death is final.

Life is gone.

Loving mem’ries

linger on.

I’ve run the vacuum,

mopped the floors…

I’ve handled the

important chores.

The house is clean.

I’m tickled pink.

No dirty dishes

in MY sink!

But, can I stop?

Declare a win?

No.

It’s time to do it

all again.

Today I wish for rainbows

and for dancing leprechauns.

I wish for magic fairy rings

and dainty, spotted fawns.

Today I wish for daffodils

and buried pots of gold.

Today I wish for all the bliss

that your warm heart can hold.

My candle burns for Val today.

It lifts its standard high.

It lights a path that’s clear and true

as her working hours pass by.

My candle lights a shining path

for all the world to see.

And, best of all, we always know

it’s there for you and me.

Blessings on teachers who impart

the skills of how to learn.

May each one have a happy heart,

success at ev’ry turn.

Blessings on kids who go to school

to study, learn and play.

May ev’ry single one of them

feel sweet success today.
