so things won’t be so hard.

I see the holidays are near.

Sometimes we look back on our lives

and think of the people we knew.

So, before I go,

I want you to know

that I’m glad that I knew you.

Here’s a tip to start your day:

Drink your coffee early.

With caffeine running through your veins,

you’ll likely be less surly.

The days are short.

The nights are long.

Let’s fill our nights with Christmas song!

The days are dark.

The weather’s drear.

Let’s fill our lives with Christmas cheer!

We whisper blessings for the night.

We hum a lullaby.

And sleep’s dark shadows cradle us

till Sun wakes up the sky.

I think that I would like to go

and check out life in Mexico.

I wonder if ‘twould be more fun

to live somewhere that

has some sun.

I wonder how a day would be

that wasn’t chilled with rain.

I wonder if that heat and glare

could be a royal pain.

I’m ‘fraid that I am meant to live

in dark and damp and cold,

and struggle on eternally

with wetness and with mold.

My cats sit, waiting, patient…

sitting silent at my feet…

reminding me not to forget:

they mainly like to eat.
