Though once I was the best they’d got,
they kicked me out for a robot.
The robot doesn’t slack, or grieve,
take coffee breaks or go on leave.
The robot’s never late to work,
ask for a raise, and doesn’t shirk.
A robot’s not the same as me.
Can’t understand. No empathy.
And doesn’t try to make things clear
when folks ask “What is happ’ning here?”
You enter in 1, 2, or 3.
That’s not enough?
No sympathy.
Just go online.
Or let it be.
Just suck it up and take your loss.
The company must manage costs.
We’ve got to watch the bottom line
and profits are, for us, just fine.
The times are changin’, don’t ‘cha know?
And “service” is the first to go.
