The word of the day is: Merrymaking—
It implies doing things with Glee.
It suggests that there are folks around
who are light-hearted company.
It evokes a diff’rent time of life –
when we weren’t all just wracked with strife.
So, I hope one day we’ll again Make Merry –
that it’s not obsolete in the dictionary—
and we’ll find pleasure in undertaking
a grand old day of Merrymaking.
