Ballad of the Suez Canal: Verse Four

Cargo ships are moving

on the Suez Canal.

But, things are getting testy, and

I’m telling you, Pal,

that Someone made a Boo Boo,

and Someone has to Pay.

The Port Authority is clear:

That “Someone” isn’t They.

They’re sending bills …

Yikes!  Yowie!!  Yes, Sirree…

it cost almost a billion bucks

to set that big ship free.

Nine hundred million dollars to

correct that big mistake…

If I had to pay it,

it would make my stomach ache.

So the story isn’t over, and

I’m telling you, Pal,

it costs a lot of money

for the Suez Canal.
