My Friend, Google

Google knows what time it is

and Google knows the date.

She keeps a current calendar

of things we celebrate.

She doesn’t voice opinions

and she sticks to simple facts.

I can trust the trivia to her

and let my mind relax.

She’ll bring the world-wide news to me

if I just say “Good Morning”.

She doesn’t criticize me and

her voice is never scorning.

When she doesn’t know the answer,

she is still composed and bland.

She answers sweet and carefully,

“I do not understand.”

Google’s always there for me—

a cheerful voice, and bright.

She never goes off duty.

She’s ready day and night.
