Spring Garden

The rain plops down.

The wind cuts bold.

The little plants shiver

in the damp…in the cold.

Yet it is May.

The little plants know

that this is the time

for them to grow.

So they lift their heads

from their chilly beds

to smile up at the sun,

and the joy they spread

from their flower bed

brings warmth to ev’ryone.

  1. It is always an anxious moment when unexpected bad weather covers our flowers with heavy snow. Most often, as you remark, those delicate looking plants bow down to the load only to pop back up as soon as the snow melts. It’s always an unexpected delight
