This Blessing’s meant to fill your heart

with love and joy today…

to brighten up your footsteps …

to help along your way.

Six hundred seventy-five thousand have died.

The numbers keep on growing.

Vaccines are proven effective and safe.

But, the pace of death’s not slowing.

The season’s about to change again.

The air is getting a bite.

We need a coat in the daytime,

and an extra blanket at night.

My car’s never had to sit outside

in the cold and the wind and the rain.

I ‘spect it’d be quite happy to park

in its dry garage again.

Mount Baker’s bright and beautiful.

Her peak is bright and clear.

Her snow-capped head’s spectacular –

the prettiest sight this year.

The sky is full of storm clouds.

It’s a welcome sight to see.

We’ve had so much of sunshine,

I can use some Rain on Me!

The candle’s steady flame

can also serve as a reminder

that life would be much better

if we were sweeter, gentler, kinder.

The un-vaccined folks play COVID Roulette

and put at risk all of our lives.

They dominate health care, plug the ER’s,

and hope they’re the one who survives.

The ships out in the harbor

leave their loads, and then they go.

Other ships replace them

in a ceaseless To and Fro.

May this simple Blessing start your week.

May Truth and Joy abide.

May Wisdom give you guidance,

with Courage by your side.
