90,000 people will die
in the few short weeks ahead.
My mind can’t comprehend it.
My soul is filled with dread.
90,000 people will die
in the few short weeks ahead.
My mind can’t comprehend it.
My soul is filled with dread.
We had a Birthday Party.
It was quite a lot of fun.
We “masked” and “social distanced,”
and when it all was done,
we did a COVID Toe Tap to
express our fond good-byes….
…just a simple birthday party,
and still a nice surprise.
I got my COVID Vaccine!
I lived through my Ordeal!
The process went so smoothly…
….it didn’t even feel!
(And Thanks to All the Kind Staff at Skagit Regional Health)
I feel morose.
I am in despair.
I looked in a mirror and
I saw my hair.
I was in a salon
one year ago.
Now the woman I see –
I hardly know.
What the world needs most
is a sympathetic heart…
a simple connection
in a world that’s apart.
The staggering losses continue.
The death toll continues to mount.
I do all I can to contain it.
But, my efforts don’t seem to count.
I’m looking for a Fairy Tale
with some levity and some laughter.
I need to find a Fairy Tale
with some Happiness Ever After.
Today my walk was
quite a bit Wetter.
But, being Outside’s
still a Whole Lot Better.
The days are getting longer.
There’s a soft’ning in the air.
Green shoots are pushing upward.
Spring is showing ev’ry where.
This Winter of Our Discontent
has been a year of woe.
‘Tho fragile light flicks up ahead,
we still have far to go.
