November morning. Wake up slow.
Have a cup of Morning Joe.
Leaves in motion. Orange glow.
Lowland rainfall. Mountain snow.

It’s Halloween!
The kids dress up
to scare their friends and neighbors.
They doorbell all around the block –
— Candy for their labors!
They’re messing with our clocks again.
It never seems to stop.
Why can’t we settle on tne time
and let the matter drop?
Decency and honor…
integrity, and such….
Ones who hold these values
now seem oddly out of touch.
Tonight we share a lullaby
even tho we’re miles apart.
We sing the same sweet melody…
… a lullaby of our heart.
I’ ve walked around the local loop.
I’ve breathed October air.
I wish that I could bottle it –
I’d send to you and share.
May all your wishes come to pass.
Smooth as jelly.
Slick as glass.
I got the latest COVID shot.
I got the flu vaccine.
No lurking germs can threaten me.
I’m feeling tres serene!
The hours go by unceasingly.
We live them — one by one.
The hours turn into days and years.
And soon one’s life’s near done.
I hope this day goes well for you.
I hope today you’ll find that
friendly hands reach out to you
in a world that’s good and kind.
