The pace of death is rising
as the killing spree goes on.
It’s become the Killing Season.
Any one can get a gun.
Any one can be a target.
That includes both you and me.
We sit by and watch it happen.
We are in a Killing Spree.
The pace of death is rising
as the killing spree goes on.
It’s become the Killing Season.
Any one can get a gun.
Any one can be a target.
That includes both you and me.
We sit by and watch it happen.
We are in a Killing Spree.
I’m getting tired of COVID.
I don’t want to wear a mask.
I don’t want to take precautions.
It’s become an endless task.
I don’t want to hear more protests
‘bout “my freedom” and “my right”.
I just wish we’d work together
so there’d be an end in sight.
I’d like some solid answers
for the things that I don’t know.
I’d like some good solutions
for the things that fret me so.
I log on to the Internet
and check out “stress” and “strife”
but there aren’t real good answers
for these bugbears in my life.
Here’s a lullaby for a restless heart
when the world feels a cloud of sorrow.
Tonight’s sweet slumber brings a better start
as you rise for the day tomorrow.
I wash my hands and I wipe my cart.
I wear a mask and I stand apart.
I Vax and Boost when they tell me to.
Is there anything else I need to do?
I guess we’ll just adapt and thrive.
Somehow we’re here, and we’re still alive.
We can’t go back. And, we can’t just quit.
So I guess we’ll just make the best of it!
The COVID number’s climbing.
We are all at risk again.
The masks and Vacs don’t stop it.
We can’t seem to rein it in.
Each day I rise with a list of things
I’m not quite sure how to do.
Each night’s surprise
‘fore I close my eyes…
is that somehow I muddled on through.
Massacres. The price of gas.
Climate change. Hate comes to pass.
Bloody fighting in Ukraine.
COVID’s on the rise again.
Baby food is hard to find.
Civility’s been left behind.
Abortion risk. The loss of rights.
Worried days and restless nights.
Insurgency. The threat of fire.
Inflation fears. It all seems dire.
We’re hoping for some peace of mind…
But, while we wait, let’s all be kind.
.
Take this little blessing
and touch it to your heart.
It won’t take away the heartache,
but it might help make a start.
