There won’t be a “life after COVID”.
COVID’s not going away.
COVID’s our new reality.
COVID has moved in to stay.
There won’t be a “life after COVID”.
COVID’s not going away.
COVID’s our new reality.
COVID has moved in to stay.
Three million have died around the world –
its scope and reach surprising.
The vaccines scarcely check the spread –
the death rate’s high and rising.
Today I wish All Good to you.
I wish you joy and laughter.
I wish you health and wealth and friends
and happiness ever after.
Its progression is relentless
though the numbers rise and fall.
The Virus goal is certain:
it wants to kill us all.
With rainbows dancing through the sky….
with flowers kissed by a butterfly…
with the gentle touch of an April wind…
let your special day begin.
I stepped outside onto my porch
and there I found a toad.
“Old Toad,” I said, “this is not for you.
Just hop on down the road.”
He popped big eyes and to my surprise
said “I came to let you know
that things are not as bad as they seem.
I’ve a Message before I go.
Just hold on and do your part.
Keep your Courage. Don’t Lose Heart.
Wherever you are, do the Best You Can.
There still is a shining future for Man.”
He said “I came to spread the word…
a simple message that needs to be heard.”
And then he croaked and shifted his load
and then he hopped on down the road.
I like to rock in my rocking chair.
Sitting quiet, going nowhere.
Life’s at peace. It’s quiet there.
Rocking along in my rocking chair.
Today I got a furnace –
said “Good-Bye” to an old friend.
The old one was still working,
but was coming to an end.
So now I have a new one.
We’ll start a life together.
I hope for warm companionship
in the months of dreary weather.
The candle’s flame is burning
….burning brightly, clear, and true…
…lights a path that’s clear and steady
as it shows the way for you.
England’s had its funeral and
it was a Grand Affair,
with Pomp and Ceremony and
a Grandeur in the Air!
It suited England’s reigning Prince.
(I’m sure it cost a pretty pence!)
And all of us had a chance to see
a glimpse of the mourning Royalty.
