A ship is still stuck

in the Suez Canal.

It’s blocking all traffic.

I’m telling you, Pal,

that finding an answer’s

not easy or quick, and

getting the ship loose will

be quite a trick.

The thinkers are thinking.

The dredgers are dredging.

The ship is still stuck.

It took quite a wedging.

It’s a tale for the Ages.

‘bout the ship that got stuck

in the Suez Canal.

Another bunch of people got shot

‘cause they went to the groc’ry store.

The gun rights activists just say:

Your whining’s such a bore!

So ten more quiet people died

in a blaze of searing pain.

And angry shooters load their guns

and wait to shoot again.

There’s a Virus among us.

It comes with a cost.

The cost can be measured

in lives that are lost.

It rages among us.

It strikes as it will.

It mutates and changes.

It never stands still.

Google’s always fresh and wired.

Always friendly, never tired.

Never bored. Never complaining.

She always ends “and tomorrow it’s raining.”

When I win the lott’ry

I will hire myself a maid.

I will hire myself a driver and

a secretarial aide…

someone to change the lightbulbs

and someone to mow the yard.

I’ll use my lott’ry winnings

to do everything that’s hard.

Each morning I ask Google whether

we’ll have a day of decent weather.

She’s friendly and she doesn’t complain.

A big ship’s gone sidewise.

Nothing can pass.

The big ship is longer

than the water is wide.

It can’t be maneuvered

by man or by tide.

They need some ideas…

both quick and inspired.

I think that the Captain

expects to be fired.

The truck that brings See’s Candy

keeps arriving at my door.

and they’ll send out some more.
