It’s almost time to change the clocks –

a useless exercise..

Of all the inane things we do

this takes the Booby Prize.

May your day be filled with sunbeams.

May your path stretch clear ahead.

May your night light up with moonbeams.

May comfort touch your bed.

Imagine a world…

where people were kind…

where decency was easy to find…

where politicians kept their word…

where quiet voices could be heard.

Imagine a world where people cared.

Imagine a world where people shared.

Imagine a world sans bombs and guns..

where people cherished their daughters and sone.

Imagine a world.

Let’s go for that.

The year?  It’s Twenty-twenty-three.

The months ahead?  A mystery.

But, crystal clear’s my wish for Thee:

a healthy, happy Twenty-Three!

The ozone layer is healing —

there’s a spot of hope in sight.

The nations worked together –

and something turned out right!

Somehow, I’d like to celebrate.

I’d like to dance a jig.

and shout it from the roof tops:

C’mon, World! This is BIG!

They say a swollen river of rain

has formed in the atmosphere.

It formed out in the ocean.

Plans to drop its rain right here.

They say that there’ll

be floods and slides

before the skies get clear.

They say to hunker down and wait.

It’s cold.

 It’s wet.

It’s drear.

The candle’s flame is steady.

Its light is clear and true.

It stands a beacon for the world.

It burns for me and you.

Mother Nature’s had enough.

She’s getting rid of Man.

The way we’ve ravaged Mother Earth

 is more than She can stand.

Butterflies and rainbows

 and blue forget me nots.

Leprechauns and friendly folks

and other loving thoughts.

Useful days and quiet nights

and skies both clear and blue.

Hope and joy and happiness…

I send these all to you.
