May all your wishes come to pass.
Smooth as jelly.
Slick as glass.
May all your wishes come to pass.
Smooth as jelly.
Slick as glass.
I got the latest COVID shot.
I got the flu vaccine.
No lurking germs can threaten me.
I’m feeling tres serene!
The hours go by unceasingly.
We live them — one by one.
The hours turn into days and years.
And soon one’s life’s near done.
I hope this day goes well for you.
I hope today you’ll find that
friendly hands reach out to you
in a world that’s good and kind.
Some people like to exercise.
But, I’m not one of those.
I’d rather stretch out on my couch —
relaxed — in sweet repose.
October’s getting cranky.
She is fretful, chill and gray.
She’s letting dark clouds gather….
…letting summer slip away.
May your heart spill out with happiness.
May your steps be gay and light.
May you smile your way throughout your day
from the dawning till last light.
(The real Columbus Day)
“In fourteen hundred ninety-two,
Columbus sailed the ocean blue”.
Where once we paused to celebrate,
it’s now an ordinary date.
His bold adventure sailing west
put navigation to the test.
And here we are. That brave, small band
has spread by millions cross the land.
So let us pause and think about
those hearty sailors who set out —
who left their homes with hope and fear —
to find this land we’ve settled here.
Hurricanes. Tornadoes.
Floods and wind and surge and such.
This climate change that’s on us?
I don’t like it very much.
Spider webs and coal black cats.
Flying brooms and pointy hats.
Costumed kids burst on the scene.
Get ready, Folks! It’s Halloween!
