Six hundred sixty thousand dead.
The numbers bog the mind.
The whole world reels in frenzy
from this threat to humankind.
Science gave an answer–
but some will not comply.
Masks and vaccine solve it–
but they would rather die.

Living the Aging Life 
It is a stunning fact that people would rather get sick, potentially killing themselves and others, than get a fully approved vaccination. As you say, it boggles the mind.

people are not storming school board meetings or protesting in the streets about vaccines for polio and small pox. I remember when summer was a time of desperate fear about polio and iron lungs. I remember the oozing small pox sores and the scars we had on our arms. We were grateful for the protection. What is the difference now?
