to the Troubles of the Day.
I’d like some Quick Solutions.
I’d like them all to Go Away.
The death toll numbers stagger.
There’s no solace I can find.
There’s no sense or understanding
in this cost to humankind.
Love thy neighbor.
Wash thy hand.
Wear thy mask.
Do’st thou understand?
Today we’re ringed by mountains.
Yes, I know they’re always there.
We rarely really see them.
They’re a sight beyond compare.
The rampage has no ending.
A “Dark Winter” lies ahead.
The Virus kills amongst us.
400,000 dead.
My COVID eating-habits
are completely Topsy Turvy.
I’ve started to eat oranges
to try to ward off Scurvy.
This January Day is fine.
It’s time to stop complaining.
The air is warm. The sky is blue.
It isn’t even raining!
Another day is dawning
as we waken from our rest.
It’s another opportunity
to do our Level Best.
I have two blessed children
who are kind and good.
They’ve become the kind of people
one would wish they would.
