The President got COVID, so
he has to work alone.
He talks with friends and confidants,
but does it on the phone.
He’s been both vaxxed and boosted,
but he got it anyway.
The moral of the story is:
Old COVID’s here to stay.

The COVID rate is sliding down.
It slips from week to week.
The risk is still a factor, but,
our future’s not so bleak.
We’ll still have Life with COVID.
It will never go away.

They don’t seem to mention COVID when reporting on Ukraine.
Is the epidemic raging midst the carnage and the pain?
The question’s nagging at me. It’s one I can’t ignore.
Does the Virus take vacation when two armies go to war?
Masks: a thing of the past?
The CDC is saying that
we don’t need to be masked.
They thank all those who’ve covered
and have done as they have asked.
But now, they say, that things have changed–
and we can show our faces.
And pesky masks can disappear–
not leaving signs or traces.

They say that COVID’s over.
It’s just all So Yesterday.
But death still walks among us.
COVID hasn’t gone away.

They say it may be easing up.
There may be hope ahead.
There may be fewer who get sick.
There may be fewer dead.
They say that things could settle down.
We won’t be COVID free,
but, if the burden’s lighter…
then it sounds quite good to me.
COVID Whine
First, we got COVID.
Then, we got Delta.
Now, we’ve got Omicron.
I’m SICK of this and
the taunting way this
virus prances on.
Hundreds of thousands now have died.
I’ve done my part.
I’ve stayed inside.
But, there are those who don’t
vax or mask.
Some thoughtfulness
is all I ask.
