The pool of those who bet against death
gets smaller ev’ry day.
Many decide on a safe vaccine,
and others just die away.
Some folks still play at COVID Roulette –
taking their chances, making the bet.
Some won’t Vax at any cost.
For some, the price is the life they lost.
I think I’ll just go back to bed.
I’ll pull the covers up over my head.
I’ll stuff my pillow down over my ears.
I’ll hide till it all just disappears.

tomorrow there’ll be rain.”

It’s a quiet little suburb.
But killing’s growing common –
barely raises even a hubbub.
Bodies lying on the street.
Blue strobe lights flashing bright.
Victims lay in seeping blood
as the lights cut through the night.
Oh, well..
Mount Baker’s contours can be seen,
but her profile’s still a bit hazy.
It’s like she thinks of coming “out”,
But she’s feeling a little bit lazy.
I think that Mother Nature’s going to rid the earth of us.
I think that she’s decided that we’re just not worth the fuss.
I think that Evolution made a singular mistake.
The Planet’s fighting back so it can have a little break.
Now the shooting’s at a Kroger store.
The bullets slice the aisles.
Shoppers lay in their own blood
amongst the grocery piles.
You’re standing in the check-out line
to pay and go…instead,
you’re laying in a pool of blood
among the hurt and dead.
