The rampage has no ending.
A “Dark Winter” lies ahead.
The Virus kills amongst us.
400,000 dead.
The rampage has no ending.

The Virus kills amongst us.
400,000 dead.
My COVID eating-habits
are completely Topsy Turvy.
I’ve started to eat oranges
to try to ward off Scurvy.
This January Day is fine.
It’s time to stop complaining.
The air is warm. The sky is blue.
It isn’t even raining!
Another day is dawning
as we waken from our rest.
It’s another opportunity
to do our Level Best.
I have two blessed children
who are kind and good.
They’ve become the kind of people
one would wish they would.
A black crow sits on the
neighbor’s white fence,
surveying the neighborhood.
His gaze is steady,
and quite intense.
He’s looking for something good.
I have a great, long “To Do” list.
It’s filled with household chores.
But, this winter day feels soft and gray—
I think I’ll go outdoors!
My kitties like their breakfast—
like to scarf down ev’ry taste —
like to lick their bowls completely
so there’s never any waste.
Each day brings some new trial.
Each day brings some new test.
I’m grateful for the quiet night
that brings some time to rest.
The COVID death’s rate’s rising,
climbing higher every day.
The COVID Death’s among us.
It’s moved in.
It plans to stay.
