I feel hope rise within me.
Everything’s not quite so bleak.
The shot should be effective
in about another week.
I can plan to get my hair done.
I can have lunch with a friend.
I can do the things I used to do.
Life’s no longer at its end.
I feel hope rise within me.
Everything’s not quite so bleak.
The shot should be effective
in about another week.
I can plan to get my hair done.
I can have lunch with a friend.
I can do the things I used to do.
Life’s no longer at its end.
My brain’s been Feeling Shaky.
My brain’s been Quite Uncertain.
My brain is Unreliable
behind this Virus Curtain.
I hope my brain is Still Up There.
I hope that I can find it!
I hope that it will start again and
all I’ll do is rewind it.
Love thy neighbor.
Mask thy face.
Wash thy hands.
Do not embrace.
We are one with all mankind.
Do thy part.
Always be kind.
I’ve had my second Virus shot.
My heart is feeling lighter.
Post-COVID life is kicking in.
The whole world seems much brighter.
Today I got my second dose
of the prized Moderna vaccine.
And, tonight I feel more hopeful
about a future change of scene!
I’m able to go out again.
I’ll cut and perm my Virus Hair.
I can meet my friends for coffee.
I can go almost anywhere!
We were born in the Depression.
We grew up in World War II.
We’ve known our share of troubles.
There’s a lot we’ve made it through.
We know how to cooperate.
We’re willing to do our part.
We also know the frailties that
wrack the human heart.
We can handle the wicked virus…
…its isolation and its fear.
Still, we’re glad to get the new vaccine
with its hope for a better year!
“Only” 1500 died last night…
…all these lives were lost.
The death toll may be inching down –
it’s still at a terrible cost.
I hope tomorrow morning
I will get my second shot.
I hope I can pick up again
the life I’ve near forgot.
I hope I’ll see a friend again.
I hope I’ll cut my hair.
I hope I’ll have some company.
I hope I’ll go some where.
There hasn’t been much flu this year –
far less than was projected.
It’s a welcome Virus side effect,
and one quite unexpected.
The Virus is a deadly scourge.
It infects and then it kills.
It then moves on relentlessly
to kill wherever it wills.
