It’s time to make a final choice
to vote in the election.
It’s time to slide right off the fence
and make a firm selection.
I’ve read what the incumbents say.
I’ve read whom they oppose.
My ballot’s lacking what I need:
a box marked “None of Those.”
It’s time to make a final choice
to vote in the election.
It’s time to slide right off the fence
and make a firm selection.
I’ve read what the incumbents say.
I’ve read whom they oppose.
My ballot’s lacking what I need:
a box marked “None of Those.”
The “bomb cyclone” was just a dud.
Yes, it rained a little bit.
We had some wind and some drops of rain,
but, that was just about it.
Do you feel the warm protection
of the candle’s steady flame?
It sends its light before you.
It’s burning in your name.
May this blessing comfort you today.
May you find a restful heart.
May you find a clear and steady path
in ev’ry thing you start.
The candle’s burning steady
with a flame that’s clear and true,
lifting up its bright and shining light
to show the path for you.
Let’s pretend that we are pretty.
Let’s pretend we’re rich and thin.
Let’s pretend that everywhere we go
we always fit right in.
Let’s pretend that we are gracious, gentle,
thoughtful, good, and kind,
and we exercise some caution when
we start to speak our mind.
Let’s pretend that people like us.
Let’s pretend that we like them.
Let’s pretend that ‘cause we exercise,
our bods are fit and trim.
Let’s pretend that COVID leaves and
we can go without a mask.
Let’s pretend that there are answers
to life’s questions that we ask.
Let’s pretend.
Today’s another Blessing.
It surrounds us with its Power.
It holds, sustains, supports us
through our ev’ry waking hour.
I want to get a booster shot.
I want the third vaccine.
I want these direful days to end…
…want to LEAVE the COVID scene.
You’re never too old for a blessing,
or a simple lullaby.
You’re never too old for a wishing star,
or a rainbow in the sky.
You’re never too old
for a sunny day
and a lick of soft ice cream.
You’re never too old for happiness.
You’re never too old for a dream.
Let’s pretend that we are pretty.
Let’s pretend we’re rich and thin.
Let’s pretend that we are lovable
and have one good, dear Friend.
Let’s pretend that we can cope
with things (like glasses, keys and mask.
And if we need a bit of help,
there’s someone we can ask).
Let’s pretend that we are witty,
wise and thoughtful, good and kind.
(And though we are forgetful,
we still haven’t lost our mind).
Let’s pretend that we have learned some things
through all our aging years.
Let’s pretend our lives are beautiful
with laughter more than tears.
Let’s pretend.
